The Only Way To Get What You Want In Life

If after reading a few of my articles you are still skeptical about how they can transform your life, can I ask that you push that skepticism aside for just one more article?

This article will delve into the greatest secrets life has to offer.

These secrets are so great that one of four things might happen to you:

  1. You won’t believe it
  2. You won’t do it
  3. You won’t adopt it
  4. You WILL do it

If you are ready for it, I’d like to share them now.

Be Selfless

Be Charitable

Be Generous

Be Benevolent

Be selfless with what you do; put others before you.

Be charitable with your time; after all, you don’t need all of it.

Be generous with you money; there are many people out there that could use it.

Be benevolent with your thoughts; the world knows when you are thinking otherwise.

It has been eloquently stated by Zig Ziglar that:

“You can have everything you want in life you want, if you will just help enough other people get what they want.”

One of my personal heroes, Steve Jobs, did exactly this.

Jobs envisioned the world in which computers could be bought, made access to and used by the general public. Before him, computers were clunky, overpriced and difficult to understand.

Steve brought the world the MacIntosh.

This computer did numerous things for the world and here are 2 of them:

  1. It brought the computer world to the masses.
  2. It changed the way we looked at computers

Steve had a knack for knowing what the audience wanted before they told him.

  1. He knew that society craved simple.
  2. He knew that society would always adapt to simple.
  3. He knew that at the end of the day, the public would always want simple.

Jobs changed the world; this we all know. He got what he wanted (a successful company that pioneered a movement) by giving the world what it wanted.

Another hero of mine, Tony Robbins gave to the world in a vastly different way.

  1. He has helped an uncountable amount of people push through their fears and become what they were meant to become.
  2. Through his foundation,, he has been able to feed 2,000,000 people a year.

Much like Steve, Tony knew what the world needed before they needed it.

  1. He knew that people needed to be pushed.
  2. He knew that people needed help overcoming adversity.
  3. He knew that there were people who needed food.

These are extraordinary examples of giving back.

You do not have to invent a computer or feed 2,000,000 people (although, that would be amazing), but you should feel obligated to give back.

If you go and help someone out 2 things will happen:

  1. Their world will begin to change
  2. Your world will begin to change

Take it from me when I tell you that the best part of helping someone is the feeling that overcomes you.  In any number of good situations, your body reacts by releasing what are called the ‘Happy Chemicals.’

They are:

  1. Dopamine
  2. Serotonin
  3. Endorphin
  4. Oxytocin

Each of these is triggered for different reasons, but understand that they all are responsible for making you happy.

I know from experience that I have gotten caught up in life and that helping others has been the farthest thing from my mind.  I get it, we all get busy, but I promise you, this is no excuse.

Over the past number of years, I have made it a mission to help as many as I can.

Currently, I am looking at and learning about opening a charity that will allow me to give back and as this adventure continues, I will be sure to keep you posted.

Helping others does not have to be in as grand as Steve Jobs or Anthony Robbins make it. It could be:

  1. Smiling at a stranger
  2. Pulling out a chair
  3. Assisting a neighbour you don’t know

I don’t know anything about your past, but I feel confident when I say that somewhere along the line, you have been helped by someone; I know I have.

I can remember a time when I struggled and I can remember a time when my family struggled. Both of these pale to the memory I have formed when I was helped.

I can vividly remember and recount those that helped me along the way. I can remember those who did not give up one me when all seemed lost and I can remember those who picked me up when I was down.

If you are looking for the quickest way to happiness,

If you are looking to get something out of life,

If you are wanting more for yourself,

Be Selfless

Be Charitable

Be Generous

Be Benevolent

Cheers to your success,
