Saturday Morning Recap

Saturday Morning Recap

May 28 – June 3, 2017

Things I’m reading

“Weird in a World That’s Not: A Career Guide for Misfits, F*ckups, and Failures” by Jennifer Romolini.

I was approached to do a prelaunch review of the book a few weeks ago and it arrived on my doorstep this week. Needless to say, I’m pretty excited. I’ll keep you posted.

What I’m watching

As you know, I’m a big comic book fan. With Wonder Woman launching this week, was there any doubt that I would be first in line to see it?

Saw it last night and I gotta say, it was way better than expected.

Things that are keeping me busy

I spent quite a bit of time this week mind-mapping a book that I have been working on for the last half year. While I can’t tell you what it is about, I can tell you that it has me very excited.

Think Apple, Zappos, Google and TOMs all rolled into one.

What I’m listening to

I relistened to two great talks by Simon Sinek. As you know I am a big time fan of his work and when I get the chance, I love to surround myself with his thoughts.

Here is the first video:

Here’s the second:

Best article I read online

After reading “36 Books Every Young and Wildly Ambitious Person Should Read” over at Ryan Holiday’s site, I’ve been inspired to do my own “Top Books Everybody Should Read List”. If you have a recommendation for a book that must be on the list, email me at info@joelascott.com and I’ll do my best to get it in there.

Look for it this week.

Quote I’m digging

“If we all take some responsibility to start with WHY and inspire others to do the same, then, together, we can change the world.”

Simon Sinek

And there you have it. My Saturday Morning Recap all in one neat and tiny package.

‘Till next week,

Joel
