Saturday Morning Recap
May 21-27, 2017
Things I’m reading
Begun reading Stephen Covey’s “7 Habits of Highly Effective People” and so far I feel pretty effective. All joking aside, this book is a staple in any library and if you don’t own it or have not read it, I strongly recommend that you finish this small post, race out to your nearest bookstore (or phone) and pick up a copy.
What I’m watching
After waking up to the news of Chris Cornell’s passing this week, I have inundated myself with YouTube videos of Cornell’s music and moments. This was truly a tragic story and as a consequence, the world has lost one of its greatest poets.
Things that are keeping me busy
My other website has been garnering a lot of my attention lately. With all the upcoming comic book movie releases, my brother and I have been actively working at preparing the website for it. Character bio’s, reviews, thoughts, and everything else you can think of.
If you haven’t been over to it, you can find it here.
What I’m listening to
If I say, my wife, is it a cop-out? We have so many things on the go and there are so many moving parts to what we are trying to accomplish, she finally said that we need to slow down. And you know what? I agree with here.
What’s the point of doing everything imaginable if you can’t enjoy it while you do it? It was a nice reminder to enjoy the journey and not focus so much on the end result.
Best article I read online
I found myself doing what I like to do and reading other bloggers online. I have a few personal favorites but when it comes to leadership, I turn to two people. First, I look to Simon Sinek. His book, “Leaders Eat Last” has taught a generation sorely in need of teaching what it means to be a leader.
Second, I turn to Lolly Daskal.
If you haven’t been over to her site, check her out. Lolly is “is one of the most sought-after executive leadership coaches in the world…As founder and CEO of Lead From Within, her proprietary leadership program is engineered to be a catalyst for leaders who want to enhance performance and make a meaningful difference in their companies, their lives, and the world.”
Quote I’m digging
“Kindness is a language the blind can see and the deaf can hear”
And there you have it. My Saturday Morning Recap all in one neat and tiny package.
‘Till next week,
