Saturday Morning Recap
April 9-15, 2017
Things I’m reading
From the Harvard Business Review, I found myself indulging in a few articles about corporate culture and the way in which innovation is changing the world. Very specifically, I focused on a few “key” companies that appear to have done it/are doing it better than most.
What I’m watching
Again, didn’t spend an ounce of time watching television. Normally, I tune in with my ears to the Ask Gary Vee Show but this week, I took some time to tune in with my eyes as well.
Just over a month away from doing the same, I wanted to take some notes, watch what Gary does so I could do as he does. Mimicking is the best form of flattery right?
Things that are keeping me busy
As I write, my wife and I are exactly one week away from departing to Ethiopia for what promises to be a life-changing adventure. As with any trip overseas, I have spent a lot of time preparing physically, mentally, and spiritually. Oh, and the trip also has me receiving more vaccinations that I thought humanly possible.
You name it, I’ve probably been poked by a needle to receive it.
- Hepatitis A and B
- Yellow Fever
Shockingly, those are just the tip of the iceberg.
What I’m listening to
Little know fact but I listen to the same playlist each and every morning.
Some of the songs include:
Best article I read online
After reading this article, I felt incredibly inspired and as I mentioned at the beginning of the article, it was this inspiration that led me to write an article entitled: Escaping What It Means To Be Average. After you have read my article, I strongly recommend heading over and reading Jonathan’s.
Quote I’m digging
It may seem shameless but the quote resonates deep within my soul. I realized what it meant years ago and now I make every effort to see those around me understand it. It’s one of my own and it goes like this:
“Change how you perceive yourself and the world will organically change how it perceives you.”
And there we go. The Saturday Morning Recap all in one tiny package.
‘Till next week,
