Saturday Morning Recap

Saturday Morning Recap

April 2 – 8, 2017

Things I’m reading

Tribes: We Need You To Lead Us – Seth Godin

I continued my assault on Seth Godin books this week, this time taking in the knowledge contained within Tribes. The book beautifully explains how and why unconventional leadership is a must in today’s day and age. It delves into how and why this must be done.

Like all of the other Godin books, this one is a must for your bookshelf.

What I’m watching

Nothing actually. I didn’t spend one waking hour in front of the television this week. Instead, I opted to YouTube it up. If you’re looking for a great way to spend 20 minutes and come out better than you went in, check out this video featuring the one and only Tony Robbins.

Things that are keeping me busy

Learning, learning and more learning. Udemy had a fire sale on their courses at the end of last week, so I scooped up as many as I could handle. More specifically, I focused in on honing my writing skills so that I can properly articulate exactly what I am trying to say to you.

What I’m listening to

John Lee Dumas or JLD as he is known and his EOFire podcast. Every day for the last many years, JLD brings in an entrepreneur who is killing it in their field. He interviews them, find out what has worked and not worked, and shares it with his audience. If you’re even thinking of following the entrepreneur route, give JLD’s podcast a listen.

Best article I read online

How To Achieve Without Setting Goals – Michael Glover

One of the most counterintuitive articles I’ve read in awhile. Michael discusses why goals are not all they are cracked up to be. He claims that goals, while they can be beneficial, can also prevent a person from living a life filled with fun.

To a point, I agree…

Quote I’m digging

I dug deep and found one that truly inspired me. Too often I hear people say, “I can’t do it. I’m just a one person. Nobody even notices me.” To those people, think about this African Proverb:

“If you think you’re too small to make a difference, you haven’t spend a night with a mosquito.”

And there we go. The Saturday Morning Recap all in one tiny package.

‘Till next week,
