Saturday Morning Recap

Saturday Morning Recap

April 16-22, 2017

Things I’m reading

Quite a bit actually. In preparation for the trip to Ethiopia my wife and I are about to embark on, I have been reading up on the country, its customs, people, traditions, laws, etc…

Certainly is eye-opening.

What I’m watching

Not too much actually. As you well know, I don’t fill my time with television. I will say that I finally finished watching Star Wars: Clone Wars…if that counts for anything?

Things that are keeping me busy

Writing and reaching out to other authors. The beautiful thing about blogging is the opportunity to meet other people it presents. Because I write for two different blogs (this one and comicbasics.com) I have been able to connect with people from all facets of life. If you’ve ever thought about blogging and are unsure about doing it, do it just for the opportunity to meet a lot of cool people.

What I’m listening to

Others. With all the political back and forth going on in the world, I found myself in more than one conversation talking about politics. More specifically, we discussed refugees, immigration, what it means to be Canadian, helping vs enabling, etc…

Things got heated but that’s where the conversation tends to become interesting.

Best article I read online

The Art of The Hard PartDavid Cain (Raptitude.com)

David delves into the depths of the “hard parts” of life. He talks about what it takes to not only get through them but rise above them too. If you’re into exercising in any way, you’ll appreciate his squat analogy in breaking down what the “hard part” actually is.

Take 5 minutes to pop over there and give it a read.

Quote I’m digging

It’s an all-time favorite of mine and for good reason.

“Change happens when the pain of staying the same is greater than the pain of change.”

Tony Robbins

I don’t think I need to say more.

And there we go. The Saturday Morning Recap all in one tiny package.

‘Till next week,

Joel

Hey Joel,

Just leaving a comment mainly to say great work right here, man 🙂

Enjoy Ethiopia! I think it’ll be more of a spiritual experience for you, guys. (I say this because I have a friend who plans to be part of some mission work there.)

Anyway, keep up the good work! (And always remember to identify and not feed the trolls whenever applicable 😉 )
